On May 20, 2017, Chicago’s alternative radio station, 101.1 WKQX. hosted the fifth annual PIQNIQ.  PIQNIQ is a one-day music festival.

The main concern going into 2017 PIQNIQ was the weather. To be honest, it wasn’t looking good.  For the entire week leading up to the show date, there was a threat of lightning and thunderstorms. On the morning of the show, WKQX tweeted out that the number 1 #PIQNIQ FAQ was “PIQNIQ WEATHER FORECAST.” Like so many other festivals like Lollapalooza, Riot Fest or basically any outdoor show, the event was “Rain or Shine.”  Despite all the weather reports, fans were not missing the line-up that WKQX put together for Chicago, many fans were lined up before the gates were even opened to get a good spot out on the lawn.  However, once the gates opened, the clouds started rolling out and the weather was no longer a concern by anyone.  Leaving everyone with an amazing day to enjoy great music and entertainment.

The line-up included 10 bands, performing on two stages at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, IL.  Be sure to check photo galleries for each of the bands.  The Saint Xavier University Stage (Side Stage) included: Lucky Boys ConfusionWarpaintJoywaveK.Flay and Sum 41, while the Main Stage included: Highly SuspectStabbing WestwardBleachers and Jimmy Eat World  and The 1975.

We can’t wait to see who 101.1 WKQX will have in the line up for 2018.  Don’t forget to check back at 101.1 WKQX website for the latest information at: http://www.101wkqx.com/.
