X106.5 Jacksonville, FL. first annual BBQ fest

On May 27, 2018, Jacksonville, FL alternative rock radio station, X106.5, cooked up the first annual BBQ with a great concert lineup at the St. Augustine Ampitheatre. The lineup featured headliners Dirty Heads and AWOLNATION, along with special guests Judah & The Lion, The Front Bottoms, and AJR!

Starting the afternoon off, AJR got the audience simmering first with their high energy.  AJR is an up and coming band of brothers out of NYC and there name comes from there first initials Adam, Jack, and Ryan. They have three popular songs now which include “Weak”, “I’m Ready”, and smash hit “Sober Up”.

The Front Bottoms were next and they did not disappoint!! The Front Bottoms are a band out New Jersey which consist of Brian Sella, Mat Uychich, and Tom Warren. A few of there hits are “Twin Size Mattress”, “Flashlight”, and “Peach”.

The next group was Judah & The Lion, which took it to another level. This band is from Nashville, TN. and consist of Judah Akers, Brian Macdonald, and Nate Zuercher and formed in 2011. Judah & The Lion have hits such as “Take It All Back”, “Going To Mars”, and “Suit and Jacket”.

AWOLNATION came on really got the crowd fired up. Having there new single come out, “Handyman”, definitely drew a crowd to the Ampitheatre. AWOLNATION consist of Aaron Bruno on vocals, Isaac Carpenter on Drums, Zach Irons on Lead Guitar, Daniel Saslow of Keyboards and Programming and Michael Goldman on bass Guitar. AWOLNATION hits consist of “Handyman”, “Run”, and there most popular song “Sail”.

Dirty Heads ended the night and was awesome from the very beginning. Dirty Heads is an American Reggae band from California and the members consist of Jared Watson (also known as Dirty J), Dustin Bushnell (also know as Duddy B), Jon Olazabal, Matt Ochoa, David Foral, and Shawn Hagood. Dirty Heads top hits are “Vacation”, “Celebrate”, and “Medusa”.

For the X106.5 Radio Station, this was definitely a perfect way to start an annual BBQ concert. This was an awesome lineup with a sold out crowd that was loving every second of it. If you missed this year’s BBQ, definitely don’t miss out on the coming years. You will not be sorry!!
