aliveOne 20th Anniversary Private Party

aliveOne Chicago Celebrates its 20th Anniversary!

During the first week of November 2016, aliveOne, the Lincoln Park neighborhood bar that combines the very best of music and spirits, celebrated its 20th anniversary. With their name inspired by the 100 CD all-live music jukebox in the front room (Chicago’s only live jukebox), aliveOne opened in December 1996 at the corner of Schubert and Halsted.

To celebrate its status as a long-standing “music mecca”, aliveOne threw a week-long bash with drink specials and live music. The celebration ended with a 20th Anniversary Private Party on Saturday night. As each person arrived, aliveOne staff members checked you off the “private guest list” and presented an “All Access” badge, making everyone feel special as you entered the side door (not the main door most people entered in at, today was special). Once in, the atmosphere was like a family/friend reunion, as handshakes and hugs were given to old friends, and not so old friends.  These were neighbors and regulars who aliveOne was a part of their lives.

The music started out with local funk, fusion and groove band, Low Spark, around 9:30 pm. Joel Cummins of Good Enough, (also, of Umphrey’s McGee), started out with a toast to aliveOne for 20 years and then went on late into the night, covering some great tunes. Like that wasn’t enough, in the back room, the DJ was spinning dance music throughout the night. Good times for everyone.

Thanks to aliveOne for a great time! Don’t wait for their 25th Anniversary, visit aliveOne soon.
