On July 26th, fellow New York natives, Taking Back Sunday and Coheed & Cambria’s co-headlining summer tour with special guest The Story So Far, setup shop on the stage at Huntington Bank Pavillion on Northerly Island in the center of Chicago’s lakefront.

The Story So Far brought their signature Cali sound and gave a solid performance. Be sure to check out their newest album release coming out September 21st, Proper Dose.

As the sun was setting, Adam Lazarra and the rest of Taking Back Sunday took to the stage with their signature alt rock sound and high energy. Mike swings a plenty, Adam kept the crowd engaged through their seventeen song set, closing with fan favorite, “Make Damn Sure.” Check out the band’s latest release, 2016’s Tidal Wave. Coheed & Cambria closed out the night of great musical performances flawlessly, as always, telling a story with their intricate riffs and lyrics. Early in the set, we were treated to “Devil in Jersey City,” and then a few songs later, my personal favorite, “A Favor House Atlantic.” Coheed played a total of thirteen songs, and closed their set with “Welcome Home.” The accompanying light show and stage design perfectly suited Coheed’s performance, and Claudio Sanchez’s signature lion’s mane was in full dramatic effect.
