From Ashes to New at Bottom Lounge in Chicago
On St. Patrick’s Day 2015, Central Pennsylvania’s six-piece band, From Ashes to New, rolled into Chicago as the supporting artist for the sold out, Hollywood Undead show, at Bottom Lounge. The rap-rock/alternative metal band consists of vocalists Matt Brandyberry and Chris Musser, guitarist Dan Kecki, guitarist Branden “Boo” Kreider, bassist Garrett Russell and drummer Tim D’onofrio.
In support of their newly released 5 song EP, From Ashes to New mixed the new songs, along with earlier material from their previous EP called Downfall.
Prior to the night’s show, many rockers in the audience were not familiar with the band. However, by the end of the night’s set, From Ashes to New had their attention. Closing with current single, “Stay This Way”, the new fans were now craving for more from them. After the band exited the stage, someone in the crowd mentioned that From Ashes to New were by far, the best opening band they had ever seen.
