On March 14, 2018, early attendees to the sold out Eagles concert at United Center in Chicago, were able to catch supporting artist, JD & The Straight Shot. The United Center show kicked off JD & The Straight Shot’s supporting tour for three legendary bands, the Eagles, Chicago and The Doobie Brothers on different tour legs.

Formed in 2000, the country blues and roots rock band, JD & The Straight Shot, is out of New York. Founder of the band is lead singer, Jim Dolan who also plays guitar. In addition, the band is made up of extremely talented musicians which include: Marc Copely on guitar; Byron House on bass; Erin Slaver on violin and fiddle; Shawn Pelton on drums and percussion; and Carolyn Dawn Johnson on guitar.

The night’s ten-song set list included a great combination of songs from the last two albums: Ballyhoo! (2016) and the most recent, Good Luck and Good Night (2017). They started off with “Never Alone,” then went into the gospel-infused, foot-stomping “Redemption Train.” The night’s performance ended with an exciting version of the Three Dog Night classic “Shambala”.

If your spring concert includes the Eagles, Chicago or The Doobie Brothers, be sure to get to the venue early and check out JD and the Straight Shot.
