On June 30, 2017, Train brought the Play that Song Tour to Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park with picture perfect weather for the evening. Train was on tour with O.A.R., along with Natasha Bedingfield. Out of San Francisco, the band was formed in 1993 and currently includes: Pat Monahan on lead vocals; Jerry Becker on keyboards and guitar; the Maldonado brothers, Hector on bass guitar and Luis on guitars; and Drew Shoals on drums.

The tour was in support of Train’s 10th studio album, a girl a bottle a boat, which was release on January 27, 2017 via Columbia Records. Performing on a stage resembling which looked like a giant jukebox, the band kicked off the show with their most recent single off the new album, “Drink Up.” The liveliness of the song got the audience singing and dancing, and they keep it going throughout the entire night.

Highlights of the night’s performance included a duet with Natasha Bedingfield on the song “Bruises,” with Bedingfield singing in for Ashley Monroe. O.A.R. members joined Train for a cover of Paul Simon’s song, “You Can Call Me Al.” Throughout the night, Train teased the audience with “Play That Song,” then saying that they weren’t ready yet. By the end of the set, the audience was ready, and Train closed with “Play That Song.”

For the encore, Train covered the classic Queen tune, “Under Pressure” with the Maldonado brothers amazing the audience with their vocals. Concluding the concert, Train ended the show with their Grammy Award winning song, “Drops of Jupiter.”
