Bastille at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL.
On October 26, 2019, I had the opportunity to see Bastille, a group from the UK that I wanted to see for a long time. Formed in 2010, the band currently consists of 4 members: Chris Wood on drums, Will Farquarson on guitars, Kyle Simmons on keys, and Dan Smith as lead vocals. The Doom Days Tour Part 1 is in support of Bastille’s third full album, Doom Days, which was released on June 14, 2019 via Virgin EMI Records.
Daily’s Place was the setting for Bastille’s performance tonight in Jacksonville, FL. The venue was a perfect place for this concert to be held. Although not sold out, the people that attended made it feel and sound like a sold out show, while Bastille sounded amazing in this venue.
Bastille ignited the night with the first single off their recent release, “Quarter Past Midnight,” which had Dan running back and forth on the stage, as well as jumping off platforms. From there, the night just got better. The concert was broken up into three acts and a slight set and theme change for each act. The supporting artist’s lead vocalist, Daniel Armbruster from Joywave came out a couple of times with Bastille, first to sing “Bad Decisions” then later for “Pompeii.” Before “Pompeii,” they teased with a snippet of Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff,” but stopped before they got to far into it. “Pompeii” was the last song of the night and an awesome song to go out on.
Overall, this was a very good night and Bastille was great. They sang all the songs that I wanted them to sing and did an amazing job doing it. If I had the chance to go see this group again, I definitely would as they bring energy to the stage and bring it out to the crowd as well. Go check them out as they have concert dates going through February!! Keep up with the latest Bastille information and tour dates at bastillebastille.com/
