Couch “Big Talk Tour” at Ramova Theater in Chicago 2025
Couch Big Talk Tour 2025 Brings Big Energy to Chicago
Chicago’s Ramova Theatre lit up on November 7, 2025, as Couch brought their Big Talk Tour to town. The seven-piece retro pop/soul band stopped in the Windy City just two weeks after releasing their debut album Big Talk, which dropped on October 24. The show marked one of the early U.S. dates on their headline run spanning North America, the UK, and Europe. Known for blending infectious grooves with bright brass and heartfelt lyrics, Couch turned a November night into something warm, colorful, and alive.
The Show
Stephen Day Sets the Tone
Opening the night, Stephen Day delivered a smooth, soulful set that paired perfectly with Couch’s energy. The Nashville-based singer-songwriter, often described as a mix of indie soul and laid-back pop, filled the room with charm and sincerity. His voice carried an easy warmth—steady, confident, and heartfelt. Fans swayed along to his hits and his conversational stage banter brought an instant connection. By the end of his set, the crowd was fully tuned in, ready for the night’s main event.
Couch Brings “Big Talk” to Life
When Couch took the stage, the chemistry was immediate. The band kicked things off with “What Were You Thinking,” the bold, horn-filled opener from Big Talk. Lead vocalist Tema Siegel commanded the crowd from the first note, her soulful tone cutting clean through the mix. Each band member—Zach Blankstein (guitar), Jared Gozinsky (drums), Will Griffin (bass), Danny Silverston (keys), Jeffrey Pinsker-Smith (trumpet), and Eric Tarlin (sax)—locked in tight, creating a rich sound that felt both retro and modern.
Their Chicago setlist stretched across their debut album and earlier fan favorites. Songs like “Saturday,” “Jessie,” and “Slow Burn” showcased the group’s range—lush harmonies one moment, playful funk the next. A standout moment came during “Static & Noise,” when Gozinsky broke into a thunderous drum solo that transitioned seamlessly into “Still Feeling You.” The crowd cheered the way only a hometown-sized room can.
By mid-show, Siegel slowed things down with “Lucky to Be Stuck With You,” then turned the heat back up with their clever cover of Britney Spears’ “Toxic.” The set closed with “Summer With You,” a breezy fan favorite that left everyone smiling. But of course, the band wasn’t done yet. The encore brought “Easy to Love” and the heartfelt “Middle Man,” the latter exploring themes of identity, love, and acceptance that gave the album—and the night—its emotional core.
Couch Family Photos and Giving Back
Midway through the show, vocalist Tema Siegel took a pause to talk about one of the band’s most personal projects: Couch Family Photos. She smiled as she explained how it all started—fans snapping disposable camera shots at shows, building what she called “a virtual family photo album.” Then she shared how the tradition had grown.
“We’re bringing it back,” she told the Chicago crowd. “We want you guys to take a photo with your friends, with a stranger—pass it on and get as many people on these cameras as possible.” Siegel went on to explain that this tour introduced something new. “Tonight after the show, on your way out, you can scan the QR codes around the room and download your photo as you’re leaving. You can also buy a signed copy, and every single penny will go to Rosie’s Place, a women’s shelter in Boston.”
It was a heartfelt moment that reminded everyone what Couch stands for—connection, community, and care. The Chicago audience responded in kind, eagerly grabbing cameras and creating snapshots that would soon live on the band’s website. More than just photos, they became shared memories—and a tangible way to give back.
Wrapping Up with Soul and Style
Couch’s stop in Chicago wasn’t just another tour date. It was a celebration of their long-awaited debut and a reminder of why their music resonates. The mix of tight musicianship, radiant horns, and lyrical honesty made the Ramova feel alive from start to finish. With the Couch Big Talk Tour 2025 now in full swing, the band proved they’re not just talking big—they’re delivering.
