Disciple

On January 17, 2025, the historic Murray Hill Theater in Jacksonville, Florida, was alive with anticipation as the night promised an unforgettable experience: a concert by the Christian rock band, Disciple. Despite changes in their lineup over the years, the band’s mission to spread the Word of God remains the same. (Check out my photo gallery from Disciple in 2019.)

The audience was a mix of devoted fans and newcomers, eagerly awaited the band’s entrance. The energy was electric as Disciple finally too the stage. Kevin Young, the lead singer, led the night with his powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence.

The Show

Disciple’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. They delivered a setlist that spanned their many years of playing, blending new tracks with fan favorites, and also one of Young’s favorite songs he ever wrote “If You Say So”.   The crowd was fully engaged, singing along and raising their hands and doing some moshing

Young’s ability to connect with the audience was truly remarkable. Between songs, he took moments to share his testimony and preach, ensuring that everyone present knew about his faith in Jesus Christ. His words were heartfelt and moving, resonating deeply with the audience.

Disciple performed a song from their worship group, Honor & Glory. The chosen song, “Firm Foundation,” was a highlight of the evening. This track, which earned the band a Grammy nomination, added a soulful and worshipful dimension to the concert.

One of the most awesome parts of the concert was the energy and enthusiasm that Disciple poured into their performance. From the opening chords to the final note, the band members were in constant motion, feeding off the crowd’s energy and giving it back tenfold.
