House of Vans

Costa Mesa, CALIF. (January 16, 2020) – On January 24th, 2020 House of Vans Chicago is excited to announce it will offer an immersive art experience curated by Chaz Bear the mastermind behind musical project Toyo Y Moi as part of Vans Customade . The launch party will engage guests with artwork from the collaboration alongside an analog liquid light show by Mad Alchemy and DJ sets by Toro Y Moi (check out our post from his DJ set at Aragon Ballroom 2/13/2016) and friends, including Chaz Bear and A. Ferraro .

Chazwick “Chaz” Bear was born in Columbia, South Carolina and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. Known professionally as Toro y Moi, the singer, songwriter and record producer has garnered widespread critical acclaim since 2010.

Although he has an active music career, Chaz has always maintained a consistent practice of painting and design. In 2016, Bear founded Company Studio. Based in Oakland, California, Company Studio applies a multidisciplinary approach to a wide variety of both self-initiated and commissioned art and design projects. The studio additionally serves as the in house visual department for Bear’s record imprint, Company Records.
