Marielle Kraft at Schuba’s in Chicago 2025
Marielle Kraft Brings The Right People Will Love You Tour to Chicago
On October 23, 2025, Marielle Kraft brought her The Right People Will Love You Tour to Schuba’s Tavern in Chicago. The tour is in support of her debut full-length album, released a month earlier on September 12. This national headlining run marked an important milestone for Kraft, celebrating the release of her first full record. Schuba’s cozy atmosphere gave fans a close-up view of her storytelling and connection. Opening the show was LEW, Lauren Weintraub, who set the tone with sharp songwriting and emotional pop delivery.
The Show
LEW Opens the Night
LEW took the stage first, performing songs like “She’s Mine,” “Two Cents,” and “Too Sexy To Be Sad.” Between songs, she spoke with ease, giving a bit of backstory on songs. The crowd was locked in from the start, many already knowing her work from TikTok or her releases. Her smooth delivery and conversational stage style made the set feel effortless. By the time she closed with “Not Like I’m In Love With You,” the crowd was asking for more, cheering “One more song!”
Marielle Kraft Delivers Connection and Storytelling in Every Song
Marielle Kraft entered with a strong presence, immediately speaking to the audience. She is a natural conversationalist—warm, witty, and grounded. Early in the set, she shared the backstory behind “Worse To Be Wrong,” joking about realizing she was “less sad about my shattered heart and more sad about my shattered ego.” The crowd responded with cheers, already singing along with the first two songs.
She moved through fan favorites including “Sorry in Advance,” “Good Days,” “Read the Room,” and “I Kissed a Boy.” The MK Mashup was a standout moment, blending older songs into a single, energetic performance that pulled longtime fans into a singalong. After the mashup, she stepped into the audience to perform “Secure,” showing how much she values close, interactive moments with her fans.
Throughout the night, Kraft spoke openly about her debut album. She shared that having a full record was a personal milestone. “It’s very cool to finally have a body of work that I can put on a vinyl record,” she told the crowd. She recalled her first debut album as a child, Hilary Duff’s Metamorphosis, and connected it to the cover she performed, “Come Clean.” Midway through, LEW joined her on stage, creating a rare collaborative moment that delighted the audience. This playful nod to her musical roots added a layer of fun and nostalgia to the set.
She also introduced songs with background stories, noting influences like Fleetwood Mac and early 2000s pop artists. “Missing Much” carried a darker, breakup-inspired vibe reminiscent of Rumors, showing her range beyond upbeat pop. Every song revealed her thoughtfulness as a songwriter and performer. The night balanced storytelling, vulnerability, humor, and energy perfectly.
A Night Built on Gratitude and Connection
Throughout the show, Marielle’s appreciation for her fans was clear. Chicago crowds are known for being loyal, and she noticed it. Several people had seen her earlier that summer at Summerfest in Milwaukee—including myself. That performance made me want to see her again, and this show more than delivered. After the set, Marielle stayed for nearly an hour and a half, talking with fans, taking photos, and signing vinyl. It wasn’t for show—she genuinely cared that everyone who wanted a moment got one. Her message about “the right people” wasn’t just the title of her album—it played out in real time.
