Minus the Bear Farewell Tour at House of Blues in Chicago
On October 17, 2018, Minus The Bear made their last Chicago performance at the House of Blues on their farewell tour. After nearly two decades of providing us with our favorite math rock jams, Alex Rose, Cory Murchy, Dave Knudson & Jake Snider are calling it quits and giving their fans one last amazing hurrah. It was a show we couldn’t miss and we’re so glad to have been there.
They opened their 25 song set (20 songs and a massive 5 song encore) with “Drilling” off their 2005 record, Menos el Oso. The set was expansive and touched on all the records, including their latest release, Fair Enough, a 4 song EP. It was hard not to move with the music during the set and everyone in the crowd was feeling the same way. People swayed, some jumped, others danced around. Minus the Bear is one of few bands that manages to be technical and dance-y without that being the first thing that comes to mind about them.
The show was fantastic! Don’t hesitate to go when they come to your town! You can see the remaining tour dates here.
