New Found Glory Sticks and Stones Anniversary Tour

On July 23, 2022, long-standing, iconic punk band, New Found Glory, with support from Be Well and Four Year Strong, returned to The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for their Sticks and Stones Anniversary Tour. Twenty years ago, the album that rocketed them into the mainstream, Sticks and Stones, was released. With hit songs such as “Forget My Name” and “My Friends Over You” playing on every alternative radio station and teenage mix CDs alike, New Found Glory became and has remained a staple in the pop punk community for decades since.

It was clear as New Found Glory’s set commenced that the group of fans at the show were a dedicated, loyal one. As audio clips from press junkets for Sticks and Stones blared over the speakers, the excitement of the audience was palpable. The group played through the anniversary album in order, kicking off their set with the first song on the album, “Understatement”. Jumping right from this into an all-out celebration, they performed “My Friends Over You” as confetti streamed down. The crowd was there for it – a bandmate on stage later explained an AV blip with Jordan’s mic, saying: “You all were so loud singing along, we had to turn up Jordan’s in-ears just so he could hear himself!” Lead vocalist, Jordan Pundik, spoke about their history as a band and with this album in particular, stating: “I feel like we grew up with this album, and I don’t just mean the band. I mean all of us–you guys too.” Pundik went on to explain that this was a big coming of age piece for them, creatively speaking. Overall, the show not only felt like a celebration of an album but also a homecoming for many longtime fans of New Found Glory.
