New Years Day at the Amway Center in Orlando
On December 14, 2018, New Years Day performed at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL in support of Halestorm, along with In This moment. Formed in late 2005, New Years Day is out of Anaheim, California. Current members of the band include band founder, Ash Costello on vocals, along with Nikki Misery on rhythm guitar, Frankie Sil on bass, James Renshaw on drums and Austin Ingerman on lead guitar.
Having seen New Years Day perform before at The Hard Rock Live, I was expecting a great performance from them just like they gave before, but this time it would be in a big arena. The set opened with “Kill Or Be Killed” and right from the start they put on such an amazing performance with so much energy. After that song they did a tribute to the metal gods, Pantera, with their song “Fucking Hostile.” The whole band was all over the stage and Ashley did an awesome job in connecting with the concert goers. They did a six song set which also included: “Epidemic,” “Skeletons” (Which is a brand new song that is awesome), “Scream,” and “Defame Me.” With their recent single “Skeletons” release on November 09, 2018, fans are looking forward to their upcoming 2019 album, and hopefully another headlining tour of their own.
