Pop Evil at the House of Blues in Chicago
On November 8, 2015, rock band, Pop Evil, performed at the House of Blues in Chicago, along with Artifas and Aranda, in support of headline band, Theory of a Deadman. Pop Evil formed out of North Muskegon, Michigan in 2001. Currently, the band includes founder Leigh Kakaty on lead vocals; along with Dave Grahs on rhythm guitar and backing vocals; Matt DiRito on bass and backing vocals; Nick Fuelling on lead guitar and backing vocals; and Chachi Riot on drums.
The band released their fourth studio album, “Up” on August 21, 2015 via eOne Music. The night’s set list focused on songs from the new album with five songs performed including singles: “Footsteps” and “Ways to Get High.” In addition, they mixed in a few songs from Onyx, the third release, which was from 2013. Pop Evil closed the night’s set with a song from Onyx, called “Trenches.”
A special surprise for the night was when Kakaty invited the Aranda brothers, Dameon and Gabe, back to the stage for a little fun alongside Pop Evil. Joined together, both bands performed the cover “I Won’t Back Down” by Tom Petty. It wasn’t obvious who was enjoying it more, the fans or the bands. Either way, it was definitely and unforgettable part to the show.
We definitely looking forward to seeing Pop Evil come back to town with a headline tour of their own soon! Be sure to catch them live in city near you. Check for tour dates and the latest information at the Official Pop Evil website.
