Seether and Skillet 2024 co-headlining tour Chicago

The 2024 co-headlining tour featuring Seether and Skillet made its stop at Radius in Chicago on September 24, 2024. With a lineup that boasts two of the biggest names in rock and rising stars Royale Lynn and Tim Montana, the night was packed with powerful performances. As fans poured into the venue, the atmosphere was primed for an unforgettable experience. It showcased the distinct sounds of both headliners and their supporting acts. This tour marks a thrilling milestone in both Seether’s and Skillet’s careers. They take to the road together following the release of Seether’s newest album, The Surface Seems So Far, and Skillet’s continued rise as one of rock’s most enduring acts.

THE SHOW

Royale Lynn

Royale Lynn, the rising star of country-rock, took the stage and quickly made her mark. Her dynamic mix of Southern charm and rock ‘n’ roll grit was on full display. She captivated the crowd from the first strum of her guitar. Songs like “Six Feet Under” had the audience tapping their feet while her undeniable stage presence had everyone hanging on each lyric. Royale Lynn’s down-to-earth energy, combined with her authentic storytelling, set the tone for what was shaping up to be an incredible night.

Tim Montana

Tim Montana kept the momentum going with his brand of rock-infused country. Known for his high-octane performances and gritty vocals, he made sure Chicago wouldn’t forget his name anytime soon. From the heavy-hitting “Hillbilly Rich” to the fan favorite “American Dream,” Montana’s set was a seamless blend of raw energy and sharp musicianship. It’s no wonder he’s become a rising star in the music scene, and this tour stop only solidified his status. For the closeout of his set, Montana brought Royale Lynn back on stage. They performed his smash hit, “Devil You Know” off Montana’s latest album, Savage.

Skillet

By the time Skillet hit the stage, the crowd was fired up and ready for the heavyweights. Having seen them a few times in the past (check some of our past Skillet posts), we knew what was coming—and they didn’t disappoint. Opening with “Feel Invincible,” Skillet delivered a punch of energy right out of the gate. John Cooper’s gritty vocals combined with Jen Ledger’s impeccable drumming made tracks like “Hero” and “Awake and Alive” stand out. Their signature blend of anthemic rock and introspective lyrics had the audience singing along to every word, creating an atmosphere that was nothing short of captivating.

Skillet’s set was a rollercoaster of emotions, from the intense “Monster” to the more reflective “Comatose.” The band showed their versatility with a powerful cover of “Be Thou My Vision,” reminding fans why they’ve stayed relevant for over two decades. As they closed with “The Resistance,” the crowd erupted in cheers, proving once again why Skillet remains a force in the rock world.

Seether

Seether followed up with an equally intense performance, and the Chicago crowd was fully engaged. Kicking things off with “Gasoline,” Shaun Morgan’s unmistakable vocals immediately took command of the room. Seether’s blend of heavy riffs and introspective lyrics was front and center in tracks like “Fine Again” and “Broken.” Their set was a perfect mix of old favorites and new material, including the hard-hitting “Judas Mind” from their latest album, The Surface Seems So Far. It was clear Seether hadn’t lost a step since they first broke onto the scene.

As the set continued, Seether dug deep into their catalog, with standouts like “Fake It” and the encore, “Remedy.” Shaun’s raw, emotive voice combined with the band’s tight musicianship made every song hit hard. Seether’s performance was a reminder of why they’ve managed to stay at the top of the rock scene for two decades.
