July 13–15, 2018, the sixth annual Windy City Smokeout returned to Chicago. Hosted by Chicago’s own, Bub City and ACM award-winning Joe’s Bar, the nation’s premier BBQ and country music festival. The three-day event was held at Grand Avenue near the Chicago River. Attendees experience the best in BBQ, craft beer while listening to country music’s biggest names and up-and-coming talent. Windy City Smokeout features the world’s best pitmasters who will be smoking and grilling both regional specialties and new-school flavors that go beyond the boundaries of traditional ‘cue.  

On a partly sunny day, with the temperature near 90 degree weather day, Front Row Music News was there to capture the excitement, flavors and music of the last day of the event, Sunday, July 15.  Unfortunately, after running to the Whiskey Jam stage to catch Jimmie Allen’s set, I was unable to get back to the Main stage to grab photos of Turnpike Troubadours and Brothers Osborne.  However, Windy City Smokeout have it covered with big screens projecting the performances for those who didn’t want to deal with the crowd closer to the main stage.  It was a great day for all with great music and food.
