Renegades & Juke Box Heroes Tour 2024

On August 24, 2024, the “Renegades & Juke Box Heroes” Tour made a stop at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, IL.  They delivered a night of classic rock hits that left the crowd buzzing with excitement. Styx and Foreigner joined forces for this co-headlining tour, rekindling the magic of their previous collaboration a decade ago. The night was further elevated by the legendary John Waite, whose presence on stage added an extra layer of nostalgia and rock history to an already unforgettable event.

THE SHOW

Show Recap John Waite

John Waite kicked off the night with a set that transported fans back to the golden era of rock. With hits like “Missing You” and “When I See You Smile,” Waite showcased his timeless voice, proving that he still has the ability to captivate an audience. The crowd sang along to every word, especially with one of my favorites, “Change.” Waite’s performance was a masterclass in delivering heart and soul, leaving everyone eager for more.

Show Recap Foreigner

Foreigner took the stage next, and they did not disappoint. Opening with “Double Vision,” the band set the tone for a powerful performance that had the audience on their feet from start to finish. Classics like “Cold as Ice” and “Urgent” kept the energy high, while “I Want to Know What Love Is” brought a sense of camaraderie as the crowd joined in for a moving singalong. When the lights were out, lead singer, Kelly Hansen, ran out and was elevated during the performance of “Jukebox Hero”. For their encore, Foreigner performed “I Want to Know What Love Is” with background singers from the Oak Lawn Community High School Choir. Foreigner’s set closed out with “Hot Blooded.”

Show Recap Styx

When Styx took the stage, the atmosphere shifted into overdrive. They opened with “The Grand Illusion,” setting the stage for an epic performance that spanned decades of hits. Mid-set highlights like “Rockin’ the Paradise” and “Come Sail Away” reminded everyone why Styx has remained a powerhouse in the rock world for so long. The addition of Chuck Panozzo on bass for several songs added a layer of authenticity and nostalgia to the performance.

As the night drew to a close, Styx kept the energy soaring with an encore that featured “Mr. Roboto” and the hard-hitting “Renegade.” The crowd was more than willing to sing along, creating a powerful connection between the band and their fans. Styx’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, reaffirming their status as rock legends.
