NORTH COAST MUSIC FESTIVAL 2023
Chicagoland’s premiere EDM music festival is making its way to Seatgeek Stadium again this Labor Day Weekend. However, the infectious music and fun atmosphere aren’t the only reasons to make your way out to the festival. Read on below to hear about eight incredible interactive experiences to have at North Coast Music Festival this year!
1. The Chill Dome
The Chill Dome offers a full-field soccer dome decked out with comfortable cushions, air conditioning and DJs performing lofi sets all under the backdrop of a mesmerizing laser show. It is the perfect location to catch up with your fellow Coasties and get out of the heat! I found myself visiting this location to cool down and enjoy the show on numerous occasions last year.
2. The Rainbow Lounge
Another beautiful relaxation station is the popular Rainbow Lounge, a circular installation featuring brightly colored hammocks that light up the festival grounds. Coasties can spend downtime here chilling and taking photos with the stunning backdrop.
3. The Giant
The Giant, created by artist Paul Khan, is a humongous sculpture of a tree man. It makes for a nice spot to unwind and catch a bird’s eye view of the Shipyard Stage (if you’re willing to do some climbing!)
4. The Zephyrs backdrop
Head towards the kinetic Zephyrs backdrop to catch a whirling array of colorfully illuminated fabric whip through the wind in all directions. It’s the ideal place for a dance party or photo op!
5. The Pixel Path
A new addition to the festival, the Pixel Path offers coasties a psychedelic path made of glow-in-the-dark cubes to walk through while on their way between sets. It will be a must-see this year!
6. Club Coast
Another new and mysterious concept brought to North Coast this year is that of Club Coast. This hidden speakeasy must be discovered by festival attendees and to get in, you must present a secret, shifting passcode that will be revealed in the festival’s mobile application each day.
7. BassBot
A gigantic moving robotic sculpture is being brought to the fest by the maker of The Giant, Paul Khan. Located near the Vega stage, BassBot is a larger-than-life creation that will headbang along with each bass-heavy set!
8. Beatbox Yacht Club
Making its return to North Coast Music Festival, the Beatbox Yacht Club is ready for Coasties to adventure through once again. The boat’s colorful exterior holds a variety of rooms to explore as well as a bar and a spacious deck that offer attendees a breathtaking view of the festivities.
