On October 9, 2022, girlhouse, the rising indie-pop artist, lit up the House of Blues in Chicago, as part of Sabrina Carpenter’s captivating “emails i can’t send Tour.” Having seen girlhouse for the first time earlier this year at Bottom Lounge (see show post here), I was excited to catch her show once again. The sold-out crowd was treated to a mesmerizing performance that showcased girlhouse’s energy and musical prowess. girlhouse is the project from Lauren Luiz. She is touring in support of her recently released, the third ep, via Secret Road Records on May 6, 2022.

The Show

Kicking off the evening, girlhouse set the tone for the night with the catchy beats of “Paul Blart Mall Cop.” The audience was enthralled as the band transitioned through their setlist. They delivered hits like “Knuckle Tattoo,” “Cool Guy,” and “Facetime After Sex.” Each song was met with thunderous applause, showcasing the band’s ability to captivate the crowd with their sound and stage presence.

One of the standout moments of the night came with the performance of “Concussion.” girlhouse’s lead vocalist,Lauren Luiz, commanded the stage. She brought the audience into an emotional journey with her soulful voice and raw lyrics. The ambiance shifted seamlessly as the band delved into “The Fatalist,” delivering an introspective performance that resonated deeply with the crowd.
