Get Local Beverly – Get Local Sessions Ep 05: The Dead Licks

Chicago’s Beverly area nonprofit organization, Get Local Beverly, cultivates live music experience that connect the community. They host a weekly live stream on both their Facebook and Instagram accounts called, “Get Local Sessions.”

On Thursday evening, June 18, 2020, Episode 05 featured The Dead Licks. During the performance, The Dead Licks donated 100% of all proceeds to My Block My Hood My City, raising over $600.

My Block My Hood My City’s mission is: “To provide underprivileged youth with an awareness of the world and opportunities beyond their neighborhood. We take students on explorations focused on STEM, Arts & Culture, Citizenry & Volunteerism, Health, Community Development, Culinary Arts, and Entrepreneurism.” They also have a small business relief fund that will go to support our ongoing operations and efforts to repair small businesses.
