Greta Van Fleet at Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, FL.

Greta Van Fleet came to Jacksonville, FL for the second time in two years, but in a totally different environment. Last year when they came, GVF played at Welcome To Rockville and was awesome. The young band totally surprised many in the audience who had not heard of them prior with their energy and also their sound. This time around was part of their headlining tour and the audience knew what to expect from them and Greta Van Fleet did not fail to deliver “Rock ‘n’ Roll”.

As soon as Greta Van Fleet came out onto the stage, the packed Daily’s Place erupted with excitement!!! The crowd consisted of a mix of everyone, but the first few rows were mostly girls which really wasn’t a surprise to anyone. As the screams came from the audience, lead vocalist, Josh Kiszka, gave out his own scream as his introduction to “Safari Song.” The band started the show with the first three songs coming off their first studio EP, released digitally only two years earlier, on April 21, 2017: “Safari Song,” “Black Smoke Rising” and “Flower Power”. They followed those songs with “You’re the One” off their debut full length studio album, Anthem of the Peaceful Army. They definitely played to the crowd and they put much more into the live performance than what they put on there albums, which was awesome!! Overall, Greta Van Fleet did a great job of mixing the first two EP’s with the most recent full studio album while throwing in a cover of “Watch Me” (Labi Siffre cover), along with a whole lot of jamming and solos.

If you have not seen Greta Van Fleet yet, you are definitely missing an awesome opportunity to see one of the best up and coming bands out there. I would for sure go see this group again in a second as they are very energetic on stage and play well to the crowd.
