==================

Hailing from Chicago, the Henhouse Prowlers have created their own global journey through their distinctive style of progressive Bluegrass music, for over 15 years. On stage, the group’s enthralling performances give audiences a sense how much they love what they do.

Their concerts have become must-see events, whether they are headlining classic theaters, or as festival favorites – drawing on the adoration of their fans, who long for the Henhouse Prowlers’ diverse and longstanding repertoire.

The Henhouse Prowlers musically explore their collective life-experiences through songwriting craft, rich harmonies and intricate instrumentation. While Bluegrass is the undeniable foundation of the Henhouse Prowlers’ music – the band creates the traditional genre into a unique sound and style all their own.

The Henhouse Prowlers are: Chris Dollar; (guitar and vocals), Jon Goldfine; (bass and vocals),
Jake Howard; (mandolin and vocals), and Ben Wright; (banjo and vocals).

This well-oiled string quartet performs over 125 shows a year, and has toured more than 25 countries, often going to places that traditional American Roots music has never been. The Henhouse Prowlers have traveled throughout the world bringing their own blend of Bluegrass and world music to hearts unknown, through their special performances and music workshops. As Bluegrass Ambassadors – the Henhouse Prowlers embody traditional American music as a foundation to talk about folk origins, its intricate cultural diversity, and likenesses, working closely with the United States State Department and international embassies. On stage, in classrooms, in workshops, and wherever they are performing, the Henhouse Prowlers capture and spread the bond we share as human beings through the universal language of music. You can feel it at every show.

The Henhouse Prowlers are thrilled to announce their forthcoming album release, entitled, The Departure, out on May 21, 2021. Preceded by two single song releases – Short Branch Saloon, available on March 26 and Heart Break and Devastation, available on April 23.

For Henhouse Prowlers, the way that this record was created was a departure from the “normal” way they have made records in the past. It is being released into a world that continues to experience a departure from its familiar ways.

For everyone, there has been a departure from the accustomed habits of daily life, as well as the ways we enjoy and experience music. The quiet cemetery beside the recording studio where The Departure, was made, humbly reminds us of our mortality – for way too many people this past year, there has been a departure from this earth.

Every beginning has an end. Every end, a new beginning. Every departure, has an arrival.
Henhouse Prowlers are looking forward to performing again this summer, in support of their new album, The Departure. Kicking off the spring / summer tour, with a special weekend of shows lined up at the City Winery of Chicago on May 29 and 30, 2021.
