Low Cut Connie at Thalia Hall in Chicago 2023

Low Cut Connie:

Almost two years ago, I covered my first Low Cut Connie show (see Low Cut Connie at Thalia Hall in Chicago 2021). Since then, I had eagerly awaited their return to Chicago. On October 14, 2023, the Art Dealers Tour returned Low Cut Connie to Chicago’s Thalia Hall and they did not disappoint. The energy, the passion, and the raw rock ‘n’ roll spirit that Adam Weiner and the gang brought to the stage were nothing short of electrifying.

The Opener

Before the headliner took the stage, we were treated to a fantastic opening act by Matthew Logan Vasquez and his band. His soulful, gritty voice and powerful acoustic guitar skills set the tone for the evening. Vasquez captivated the audience with his heartfelt lyrics and a blend of rock, folk, and Americana, leaving us all in awe of his musical prowess.

The Show

Once Low Cut Connie hit the stage, the entire venue came alive. Adam Weiner, with his trademark wild piano work and infectious enthusiasm, engaged with the crowd like an old friend. Low Cut Connie’s setlist featured a mix of new tracks from their “Art Dealers” album and beloved classics, including fan favorites like “Rio”, “Shake It Little Tina” and “Dirty Water.” One special song which always gets Chicago singing “We’re on the south-side of Chicago” was “”Boozophilia.” The band’s dynamic performance had the audience on their feet, dancing and singing along. The piano-shredding skills of Adam Weiner added an extra layer of excitement.

What makes Low Cut Connie truly unique is their ability to make every member of the audience feel like a part of their family. Adam Weiner ventured into the crowd, stood on his piano, and even danced with a lucky fan. Also, returning to the show was the “Tough Cookie”, Aaron Feldman in the Cookie Monster costume. Adam even put on the Cookie Monster head for a few moments. The sense of community and inclusivity that Low Cut Connie creates at their shows is truly special. It’s this connection that makes their live performances so special.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Low Cut Connie’s “Art Dealers” Tour at Thalia Hall was a night to remember. Their infectious blend of rock, soul, and pure entertainment is a testament to their mastery of the art of performance. For anyone who has the opportunity to witness their electrifying live show, it’s an experience not to be missed. Low Cut Connie’s ability to turn a concert into a full-blown party is unrivaled, and we can’t wait for their next tour to hit Chicago.
