The Summer Set at House of Blues in Chicago 2026
The Summer Set Meet Me At The Record Tour 2026
On March 21, 2026, The Summer Set brought the Meet Me at the Record Tour to House of Blues Chicago. The Chicago stop included a packed lineup with Good Boy Daisy, People R Ugly and senses. The band continues to support newer material while leaning into fan favorites. And from the start, the crowd showed up ready.
The Show
Good Boy Daisy
Good Boy Daisy opened the night with a focused set. The Arizona-based twin duo has been building momentum since their early releases. And their sound continues to evolve without losing its edge. I had briefly caught them back in 2023 at Summerfest. So it was good to see a fuller set here. They moved quickly through songs like “Terrify” and “Supermodel.” The pacing stayed tight, which helped early. And tracks like “Summer Love” connected right away. By the end, they had the room fully engaged. You can keep up with them at their official site: goodboydaisy.com
People R Ugly
Next, People R Ugly brought a different feel. The Los Angeles-based group has been carving out a space with a raw, alternative sound. And that identity came through clearly on stage. Their set leaned heavier and a bit looser. Songs like “SLEEP TALKING” and “DAYLIGHT” gave the room a shift. And that change worked. They closed with a cover of “What’s Up?” which landed well. It gave the crowd something familiar before moving on. Stay connected with the band here: linktr.ee/peoplerugly
senses
Then senses took over and kept things moving. The duo formed in Los Angeles and has steadily grown through touring and releases. And their chemistry shows in a live setting. Their set felt sharp and consistent. Songs like “obsessed” and “sleepwalking” kept the pace up. And their cover of Hilary Duffs “Come Clean” stood out. Being in Chicago, they even took a shot of Malört on stage. That moment got a reaction. By the end, the crowd was fully locked in. Find more from them at their website: sensestheband.com
The Summer Set
When The Summer Set hit the stage, the energy jumped. The band formed in Arizona in 2007 and built a strong following through the late 2000s pop-rock scene. And their return continues to resonate with longtime fans. I had the opportunity to also see them briefly last year at Summerfest (see gallery here). So there was already a baseline to compare. This set felt tighter.
They opened strong with “For the First Time.” And they didn’t let up early. Songs like “I Don’t Wanna Party” and “The Boys You Do” kept things moving. As the set built, the mix of old and newer tracks worked. “Boomerang” included a quick nod to “I Want It That Way,” which the crowd caught instantly. Later, “About a Girl” blended into “Iris,” adding another familiar moment.
Midway through, pacing mattered more. during Teenagers senses returned to the stage. “All My Friends” and “Girls Freak Me Out” kept the crowd engaged. Then “Legendary” slowed things down with an acoustic feel. That shift gave the set some balance.
Toward the end, the band closed strong. “ADIDAS,” “Flowers,” and “Dizzy” kept the momentum up. And the encore sealed it. “Figure Me Out,” “Chelsea,” and “Lightning in a Bottle” gave the crowd exactly what it wanted.
The Summer Set Chicago 2026 Delivers a Complete Night
In the end, this Chicago stop delivered a full night. Each opener added something different, which helped the flow. And the headlining set paid it off. It felt natural from start to finish.
Other stops on the tour featured Lindsay Ell. And sure, it would have been great to see her here too. But honestly, I wouldn’t swap out anyone from this lineup. This group worked. For Chicago fans, this one landed.
