2018 101 WKQX TNWSC

For the sixth year, 101WKQX presented its concert series, “The Nights We Stole Christmas.” The 2018 version of TNWSC was even “Bigger and Better” than any of the previous years. In 101WKQX’s initial September announcement, four nights were announced, which included:

NIGHT 1: 11/29/2018 • Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats | Houndmouth | Alice Merton
NIGHT 2: 11/30/2018 • The Smashing Pumpkins | grandson | Albert Hammond Jr.
NIGHT 3: 12/01/2018 • Walk the Moon | Chvrches | Flora Cash
NIGHT 4: 12/02/2018 • Death Cab for Cutie | Elle King | LOVELYTHEBAND

On November 5th, less than a month before TNWSC was to begin, 101WKQX added the biggest gift to Chicago. A 5th night was added! There post read:

One of the benefits of stealing Christmas is being able to do whatever you want when it comes to gifts & celebrations, right? There’s no better way to support that idea than with this morning’s surprise announcement of a special 5th night of our beloved 101WKQX’s annual concert series, The Nights We Stole Christmas.

Night 5 of TNWSC will bring Muse (!!!!), Jungle, & Barns Courtney to the Aragon Ballroom on Sunday, December 9th. This is on top of an already stellar 2018 lineup that featured Nathaniel Rateliff, Smashing Pumpkins, CHVRCHES, Walk The Moon, & Death Cab For Cutie.

Hard to believe that the Grammy Award winning artist, MUSE, who normally performs in arenas, would be playing at the Aragon Ballroom.. Supporting artists include two other artists from England, Jungle and Barns Courtney. Front Row Music News honored to have the opportunity to attend, and in our opinion the best night of the series.

NIGHT 5: 12/09/2018 • MUSE | Jungle | Barns Courtney

The sold out show kicked off the night with TNWSC alumni member, Barns Courtney (see post from 2017).  Next up was Jungle. Closing the night out was headline artist Muse.  With the wrap-up of the amazing 2018 lineup, what will 101WKQX offer the world for 2019 TNWSC? Find out next fall at 101WKQX website: 101wkqx.com.
