grandson at Bottom Lounge in Chicago 2022

On Sunday, April 3, 2022, Canadian-American singer, songwriter, and musician, Jordan Benjamin, aka grandson, performed at the SOLD OUT Bottom Lounge in Chicago.  The DEATH OF A TOUR 2022 was a 20+ run of shows, along with supporting artists Nova Twins and Royal and the Serpent.

Show Recap – grandson

After outstanding, energetic performances by both supporting artists, Nova Twins and Royal and the Serpent, it was time for platinum-selling artist, grandson, to take the stage. From start to finish, the show was insane with power.

Although the entire show was amazing, here are just a few highlights of the night:

  • Kicking off the night with 6:00
  • With a spotlight only, “Bury Me Face Down”
  • Acoustic solo of “The Ballad of G and X”
  • Final encore song, Blood // Water
  • grandson jumping from a side box into the crowd

It’s not everyone night that the audience chants someone’s name who isn’t on stage. However, tonight was no ordinary night.  It was Connie’s 40th grandson show (FYI… Connie not only is a true grandson fan, along with many other artists. She is also a contributor here at FrontRowMusicNews!).  For the encore, grandson asked, “Hey Connie, what song do you want to hear for your 40th show?” Connie picked her favorite, “Stimata”.  “Do you think we’ll just do one song? How about if we do two?”

As the show concluded, grandson yelled out, “Acoustic set outside.”  With that, a crowd of about 30 or so people hung around near the tour bus. However, it was more of a sing along than an acoustic set.  Fans sang along to “Rock Bottom,” “Thoughts & Prayer,” and “Blood // Water.”  It was a great conclusion of an amazing night of live music.
