Friday, November 15th, none other than the great city of Chicago to host a stacked lineup consisting of Logic, J.I.D and YBN Cordae. Chicago was lucky enough to be the last stop of The Confessions of a Dangerous Mind Tour, and boy did each artist put on a show. Even with such big stars each performer was humble, often stopping to talk or point out fans in the crowd they recognized. Talking to concert goers, it seemed each artist had very unique, vibrant and friendly fan base, which built excitement for the show in the coming hours. The theme of Logic’s The Confessions of a Dangerous Mind Tour was spreading love and positivity and the fans did not drop the ball.

The First Act of the night was YBN Cordae who I, being a fan, was very excited to see. Cordae recently released his first album titled, The Lost Boy  which thrust him into the mainstream. Cordae, as the opening act, came onto the stage setting the energy level in the building. Initially, Cordae showed love to the Chicago crowd saying that tonight it was first name basis and to drop the YBN. Cordae then asked for “Everyone who came with their best friend to give them a hug!”. Everyone around me began hugging and then unexpectedly he said “If you see someone who came alone give them a hug!”. I was immediately embraced by a random fan and truly felt the spreading of love and positivity.  He played many tracks off his new album, a few of my favorites, “Kung Fu”, “Have Mercy”, “Broke as Fuck” and “Lost and Found”. The energy level was set and ready to continue upward with the next coming acts.

The Second Act of the night was J.I.D and if there was anyone who could continue the energy that Cordae began, it was J.I.D. J.I.D opened up his set with “Never” from his first album The Never Story and followed up with one of my favorites “EdEddnEddy”. During the performance he rapped insanely fast and the only thing that surprised me more than the speed was that his fans were keeping up with every word. J.I.D expressed how he was grateful to be invited on The Confessions of a Dangerous Mind Tour and that he believes in the power of spreading positivity and love. Toward the end of J.I.D’s set he played “Wells Fargo” which riled up the crowd and ended showing love to his Collaborations with Dreamville after playing “Costa Rica”.

The Final Act of the night was none other than Logic. On the final day of his, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind Tour no one was expecting just how special it was going to be. He opened the concert with “Everybody” from the album Everybody one of my favorite albums. He played a very thorough set consisting of 20+ songs and spanning over many albums. The standouts were almost too many to count, “Overnight”, “Wu Tang Forever”, “Icy”, “Indica Badu”, “Under Pressure”, “Keanu Reeves”, “1-800-273-8255”, and for his finaly  “Everday”. Not only did Logic spread the love with his fans but also with his accompanying acts getting both YBN Cordae and J.I.D on stage. The cherry on the top of the night was a special moment for everyone in attendance at the Allstate Arena including myself. Logic brought his fiance up onto the stage to announce he had proposed the night before and that it was official they would be getting married. Thunderous chants of “Megan, Megan, Megan” rang out in the Allstate Arena and it was not a moment anyone in attendance will soon forget, including Megan!

At the end of a night of amazing musical talent, accompanied by spreading love and positivity, those in attendance knew if Logic, J.I.D, or YBN Cordae are at the Allstate Arena everyone was in good hands.
