On November 17, 2019, Newsboys came to Jacksonville, FL. for a stop during the Newsboys United tour. This tour consisted of Adam Agee, Ryan Stevenson, Kevin Max, and, of course, the Newsboys (both new and old members). The Newsboys consisted of there most current band: Michael Tait – Lead vocal, Duncan Phillips – Drums, Jeff Frankenstein – Keys, Bass, Vox, and Jody Davis – Guitars, Vocals. Newsboys also had two previous members from the band join them on this tour and they were Peter Fuller – Vocals, guitar and Phil Joel – Bass, vocals. This Newsboys United concert took place at Christ’s Church in Jacksonville and was the perfect stop for this tour. Since hearing about this concert, it was a concert that I didn’t want to miss. They have always been one of my favorite bands growing up and now having the current band members with past members would be awesome.

At the beginning of the night, the Newsboys took the time and did a question & answer session. Following the Q&A session, they had a special Meet & Greet for people who had an upgraded VIP Platinum pass. Once the show began, the night started off awesome and they got the crowd going with some of there older songs with just the current members of the group. After a couple songs, the older members of the band came out on stage and sang “Shine” and some of their older hits and then stayed on for the rest of the concert. The Newsboys played all their hits including “Born Again”, “The King Is Coming”, “Guilty”, and at the end, they played my favorite song “Jesus Freak”. During “Jesus Freak”, they had a member of the audience come up and had him do the rap part of the first verse and he did awesome without missing a beat.

This was an awesome concert to go to and Newsboys always puts on a good show that you don’t want to miss. They still are traveling around touring and have plenty of dates to go see them live and if you live in the Orlando area, they will be playing at Universal Studios during Rock The Universe January 24.
